BEER PONG CHAMPS

The legal drinking age in the United States no matter where you are is twenty-one. Supposedly at the age of twenty-one, you are matured and ready to handle the responsibilities and actions of an adult. Drinking alcohol is one of these responsibilities and actions of adults. However, underage drinking is as common as cars on the 405 freeway at rush hour. Even though it is illegal in all fifty states, whether we like it or not, alcohol is being consumed by minors. Parties of all ages; varying from high school to college parties partake in underage drinking. Often times at these social gatherings; a universally known drinking game is played by many under aged partygoers; BEER PONG!

BEER PONG is a common and simple game. It is usually set up with 10 cups (or MORE) in a triangle, on both sides of a long table, filled up a little less than half way of the cup by using two (or MORE) 12oz. beers per each side. The objective of the game is competing against the other team, who stands on the opposite end of the table, by throwing a ping-pong ball into the opponent’s cups. Each shot made means drinking that cup. Eventually the team making the most shots will eliminate each cup and by that, ultimately winning the game.

Alcohol has been illegal for anyone under the age of twenty-one since 1984. That’s twenty five years that underage drinking has been prohibited. Despite what the law says, many minors are partaking in this drinking activity.

Honestly, in my opinion, Beer pong makes fun happen while drinking. Before the whole being drunk stage, beer pong gives party goers not just entertainment, but competition. It makes drinking fun while giving competition. Even though we hate to admit it, underage drinking does occurs, and what makes it worst, games are now created making the consumption of alcohol enjoyable.

Beer Pong has grown to be a routine addition to my weekends out. I have a particular cousin who throws parties or kick backs on the regular. She even has a permanent table set up for beer pong in her back yard. I am not going to lie, I have been a participant in this growing drinking epidemic and I will say that it was without a doubt, a very fun and social past time.
